Many billions of dollars are spent on gifts annually, including more than $250 billion spent on gift cards for just about everything under the sun. You can get a gift card for Starbucks or Sears, restaurants or retail.
But Myron Levine, a Long Island-based entrepreneur, believed the best gift of all might not be a card that lets you buy books or electronics.
What about literally giving the gift of giving? What about getting people to give each other charity cards – where they could select the charity? Could he make it convenient, customized and turn charity into a choice that people consider when they decide what to give?
